Workshops for Looking Inward

ABOUT US

There are certain skills that open the doors to inner exploration and set the process of growth going. Without these skills, one either can not enter the world of body, soul, and spirit, or only does so haphazardly. Occasionally, if one does find oneself in the inner growth process, most can't understand what they are experiencing or hang onto what was gained. In the end, not much is really accomplished.

Each of the workshops offered by The Inner Arts Center has been selected because they outline what: one finds on this path, how to keep on the path, and how to incorporate inner knowledge into daily living. The courses are complementary, each feeding, building, and informing the other. Our courses focus on inner movement and inner contents. We emphasize honoring what we find within the psyche and helping bring it out so it has a place in our daily lives. Dream work, for instance, is the most creative endeavor we do every day (night) of our lives. In the freedom of dreaming, we are allowed to introduce new elements into our psyche within broad horizons. within broad horizons. A collage of feeling, memory, senses, and knowledge is laid out before us to embrace as well as learn from. Such is the case in other work---journaling, art for reflection, Voice Dialogue, Focusing, and Jungian active imagination. Discover that which is within.

Ray Bradbury captures the vision of the Center well: We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out.

Special Note:
While most people can benefit from doing the sort of inner work our classes provide, it should not be considered replacement for therapy provided by health professionals such as psychotherapists or psychiatrists. We are not psychotherapists or psychiatrists. We have had training in what we do or follow a path of careful study, but we can not provide the care that only a health care professional can.
