Ten years ago, a new field of study came into the psychological field. In 1998, Positive Psychology was born as an area of study putting character strengths, uplifting life experiences, and wellness ahead of psychological pathology and character shortcomings. Positive Psychology has become a burgeoning area with masters degrees, scientific journals, conferences, and oddles of books available for those willing to pick up on this cutting edge of psychology.
Join the Monthly Positive Psychology Work Group at The Inner Arts Center. Starting in February, we will meet monthly for 90 minutes to explore what Positive psychologists have discovered and how we can experiment with Positive Psychology in our own lives. We will discuss online articles, books, etc., our own experiences with the positive, and provide support for each other.

Read a short newspaper article on the science of happiness and the field of Positive Psychology
The curious, the grouchy, those who suspect studying positive experiences and human strengths is stupid and uncool, those who have had positive experiences and want more, those who want to identify and sharpen their strengths, and those who want to give beauty, curiosity, and happiness a try.
None. With that said, if you can make a $5 donation per meeting, that would help pay for rent on the space we use for this meeting.
I will help facilitate this meeting but members will bring ideas, materials like articles and books, their own life experiences, observations, and findings from their own efforts. This will a gentle, interesting, energetic, and supportive group experience.
If there is interest, I can set up a dedicated, private Web message board for sharing so we can keep in touch between meetings.
Come to a meeting and find out. I will provide a quick introduction on the why and how of a Positive Psychology work group. If you like what you see, join the group. If not, that's fine, perhaps later.
